WAR VS ILLEGAL DRUGS: Is PNP conducting Oplan Tokhang to Call Centers? Hmmm...

The Philippine National Police is now planning to conduct Oplan Tokhang to the call centers.

According to a report in 24 Oras in GMA News, the Eastern Police District (EPD), within its jurisdiction, will about to conduct an information drive to call centers and condominium buildings.

The EPD has been receiving reports from arrested drug pushers that they had a lot of customers among call center workers.

Senior Superintendent Edwin De Ocampo Sr. EPD deputy chief for operations said,

Ang nakikita namin na link dito is that kasi may mga user... pero hindi doon ang transaksiyon.
To conduct this, police will have to ask for permission first from building authorities before they could conduct their information drive.

The said process is just like their plan in conducting Oplan Tokhang in exclusive villages.

“Oplan Tokhang” or Operation Tokhang is a contraction of Visayan words “Toktok” knock) and “Hangyo” (request).

Under the Philippine National Police program, part of the initiatives of the Duterte administration to eradicate illegal drugs in all parts of the country, the police, local government units and barangay officials will visit the houses of drug users and then will try to convince them to surrender for rehabilitation.

This was launched simultaneously last July 1.
