President Rodrigo Duterte has a request to his loyal supporter amid of the criticisms he’s facing from international media and human rights groups.
The president expressed his gratitude to his supporters but reminded them:
We should not also threaten people because they cannot write the truth.He said during his first visit to the camp of police personnel in Cagayan de Oro City, referring to international journalists/writers, who was threatened by Duterte loyalists, according to the president.
Do not keep on complaining about my mouth because my mouth is not the problem. It cannot bring down a country but it can erase a generation of right-thinking Filipinos.
Duterte loyalists, particularly in Facebook, has been firm in defending the president especially when there’s negative or what they claimed ‘biased’ articles about him. Even Senator Leila De Lima, a staunch critic of Duterte, has received hate messages and memes.
