President Rodrigo Duterte received a warm welcome from the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) during his visit in Vientiane, Laos for the 28th and 29th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit.
From a report in Manila Bulletin, OFWs expressed their elation to finally see the President and were quick to ask for selfies.
The President then vowed to give him time to fix the country and to clean it from corruption.
I assure you pag uwi ninyo, iba na ang sistema doon,” he told the Filipino community in Laos. Also present were Filipino workers from Thailand, according to a palace statement.He said that he will also not allow terrorism to rule the country and to stop him from serving as the highest official in the country.

He also shared the government extensive campaign to eradicate illegal drugs.
