De Lima Receives P8-Million From Drug Lord Kerwin Espinosa
Leyte chief of police Chief inspector Jovie Espendido revealed that Senator Leila De Lima received eight million from suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, son of late Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa who was shot-to-death during an encounter inside the sub-provincial jail in Leyte.

Espendido further explained that the money was handed during a meeting in a restaurant in SM Mall of Asia.

He already filed a case against De Lima with her alleged connection on the drug operations of Kerwin.

During the Senate hearing on the death of the Mayor Espinosa, Espendido said that charges were filed against the names included on the written affidavit of Espinosa which includes De Lima.

“'Yung affidavit ni Mayor kasama sa sasampahan natin ng kaso. Totoo 'yun. Ang sa atin naman hindi maganda sa side ko kung magsabi ka lang ng ganun. May circumstances din,” he said.

“Nung nagsasabi si Mayor andyan 'yung mga anak niya at saka 'yung common-law wife niya. Tinanong ko paano mo nalaman na nagkita sila sa Burnham? Sumagot din ang mga anak niya. Sabi nila kaming family nakita namin,” he added.
Meanwhile, De Lima denied the accusation linking her to Kerwin’s drug transaction and lashed out the administration that it was their intention to ruin her reputation.

De Lima is a known staunch critic of President Rodrigo Duterte

Espendido narrated that De Lima and Kerwin met in Baguio City.
