Senator Leila De Lima has been under hot water for her alleged involvement in illegal transaction inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
In line with this, Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales revealed that she had already ordered her office to have a fact-finding committee that will investigate the involvement of the then Justice secretary.
“There have been some leads. We’re giving it due course by conducting fact-finding,” she shared to reporter during the University of the Philippine College of Law alumni homecoming as reported by Inquirer.READ ALSO: Remarkable Response of Roque on Why House Probe Was About De Lima’s Personal Life
This was also in response to the complaint filed last October by Police Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido, head of Albuera, Leyte, police.
Espenido accused De lima of receiving illegal money from Kerwin Espinosa, son of late Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa.
