Starting from March 2017, OFWs can already be exempted from paying airport terminal fee, Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced,
According to Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) General Manager Ed Monreal, they already discussed the matter with the airlines and have agreed to waive terminal fees from return ticket bought by OWFs abroad.
"Airline[s] have already agreed in principle, so, hopefully by March 2017, mawala na ang pangamba ng ating mga OFWs sa pagbabayad ng terminal fee [the fears of our OFWs over paying terminal fees will now disappear]," Monreal said in a report of CNN.READ ALSO: Wonderful Experience Of A Pinay in NAIA Goes Viral, Change Has Come!
As of the moment, OFWs, returning in the country were already exempted from paying the terminal fee. However, they can only refund it on MIAA counters as the fee is already integrated on the cost of airline ticket.

With this recent development, MIAA looks forward that it would be more comfortable for the OFWs next year that the airline would have time to fix their system.
