"Huwag kang epal at may move on comment ka pa diyan kasi napaghahalata ka."
In a recent Facebook post of political analyst and De La Salle University professor Antonio Contreras, he castigated Vice-president Leni Robredo for being 'epal' and commenting on the dismissal of former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos' case over the script change in the server used in the May polls.
According to Contreras,
Leni Robredo you are not a party to the script tampering case filed by the Marcos camp. Huwag kang epal at may move on comment ka pa diyan kasi napaghahalata ka.In a report from GMA News, Robredo's camp tells Marcos to move on and 'accept the facts and the truth no matter how painful it might be'.
The case is appealable and has a good chance of being reversed. It is involving a special law where the mere admission by Smartmatic should have sent the case to trial and intent to defraud should never have been an issue at the preliminary investigation stage. I have talked to many practicing lawyers and they all agree on this basic rule, which I am surprised you do not know. Lawyer ka pa naman.
Besides, the strength of the Marcos protest at the PET is less based on the script anomaly but on the fraud that happened in ARMM which will become evident when the ballots will be scrutinized for recounting.
Atty. Bernadette Sardillo, part of Robredo's legal team, in a statement said:
While the right to litigate is accorded to any person, fair play demands that we guard against false or baseless charges.READ ALSO: Marcos SLAMS Media For Unequal Treatment On His Protests About Electoral Fraud
If their evidence is lacking, it should be declared to be so and no amount of appeal can change that.
There are times when we just need to accept the facts and the truth no matter how painful it might be.
