ABS-CBN is in hot water once again after former DILG secretary Rafael Alunan III noticed a misleading headline about newly-elect US President Donald Trump.
Facebook post, Alunan shared an article from ABS-CBN entitled 'Trump vows to immediately deport up to 3 million immigrants'. The former DILG Secretary captioned it with:
THE HEADLINE IS MISLEADING AND SWEEPING THAT MAKES NO DISTINCTIONS. THE SUBSTANCE OF THE REPORT IS QUITE DIFFERENT. IT IDENTIFIES UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS AND CRIMINALS OF ALL TYPES. THAT COMPLETELY CHANGES THE IMPRESSION.Commenters of Alunan's FB post said:
"Donald Trump will keep his vow to deport millions of undocumented migrants from the United States, he said in an interview to be broadcast Sunday, saying as many as three million could be removed after he takes office.
"What we are going to do is get the people that are criminal and have criminal records, gang members, drug dealers, where a lot of these people, probably two million, it could be even three million -- we are getting them out of our country or we are going to incarcerate," Trump said in an excerpt released ahead of broadcast by CBS's 60 Minutes program."
President Duterte suffers from the same sort of media bias. Lazy people who do not verify what they read or hear are easily fooled
Do we have a legal sanction for this type of reports sir Raffy? Its hurting our relationship with other countries
