Almost two months after its revetment’s inauguration, a portion of construction built as part of P650-million Bicol River rehabilitation project of Vice President Leni Robredo has collapsed.
And now, local officials are pointing fingers about the matter, according to Manila Bulletin.
The rehabilitation project was under the then Camarines Sur third district Robredo on which she attended the inauguration last September 9.
The news broke out after several trending sites made a story about it.
However, Robredo hasn’t issued a statement yet over the matter.
According to the report of Manila Bulletin, the Department of Public Works and Highways pinned down the incident on the 100-meter concrete fence on top of the revetment that the owner of the private cemetery built without securing any consent and permit from city hall and barangay.
The city engineer also pointed out that the fence and the revetment has substandard quality.
Meanwhile, Naga mayor John Bongat said that investigation about the incident has already rolled out.
