"Naga-appeal ako sa inyo, magsabi kayo ng totoo na hindi totoo yung sinasabi ninyong kilala kita."
Senator Leila De Lima on Monday became emotional while appealing to her three accusers to 'tell the truth' that she was not involved in the illegal drvg trade, GMA News reported.
Pertaining to alleged drvg lord Kerwin Espinosa, her former security aide and ex-boyfriend Ronnie Dayan, and Albuera police Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido, during Senate hearing, Sen. De Lima said:

"Wala kayo sa PNP (Philippine National Police), you are in the Senate. If you tell the truth, my colleagues, I think, will protect you. Iyan ang pakiusap ko sa inyo," De Lima said.
"We never met before, alam 'yan ni Ronnie. I don't have your number because I definitely do not know you. Check it in the records, there can never be a conversation between Kerwin and Ronnie, even Espenido dahil hindi sila magkakilala," she said.
“Ronnie Dayan knows that I don’t know you," she said, addressing Espinosa. "I know Ronnie Dayan does not know you and claims that he does not know Espenido."
She also said the testimonies of three were fabricated to pin her to illegal drvgs in accordance with the wishes of the Duterte administration.
De Lima added she would have wanted to cross-examine them if not for their alleged 'handlers'.
"Gusto ko sanang i-cross examine kayo but I’m avoiding that dahil baka may opportunity yung handlers ninyo na ayusin ang testimonies n’yo sa line of questioning ko."Referring to Dayan and Espinosa:
"Galit ako sa mga taong gumagamit sa inyo. You’re vulnerable. Ginamit kayo para siraan ako. I will know in due time who they are."
