Not Mining! Belgica Reveals One Very Important Thing DENR Must Prioritize

You'll surely agree with this!
Greco Belgica - Gina Lopez
We've seen many improvements since Secretary Gina Lopez became the head of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), especially with the non-compliant mining firms.

However, former councilor of the sixth district of the City of Manila, Greco Belgica, said that there is more than shutting down non-compliant mining firms the DENR head must prioritize.

On his Facebook page, Belgica wrote:

Things must change. Rules must change. And policies must change. If there is one very important thing the Department of Environment and Natural Resources must prioritize, it is this. To make sure than land and water is returned to its original God given STEWARDS - Man and families.
He also said that it's right to stop the abusive and illegal mining, but...

My heart breaks everytime I see people living like rats in a wealthy enviroment such that we have. Knowing that it is all because of unjust and corrupt policies.

Giving rice for buena noche to families who live in Smokey Mountain and ULINGAN TONDO, who lives in a naturally wealthy place like Manila bay is a result of unjust and corrupt systems and policies that steals from people.

The filipinos are people gifted with vast land and water resources there is no reason for filipinos to be poor other than a wrong laws, policies and mindset implemented by officials chairing very important departments.

During our campaign, I talked about this in our sorties. And the President agrees with it.

The regalian doctrine that was lifted from the 1935 constitution when the Philippines was under American rule. Stupid! It should have never copied and pasted in the 1987 constitution. It only transferred Filipinos from one foreign master to local masters called burecrats and politicians.

It is WRONG to allow CORRUPT and IMMORAL LAWS govern us. This is one law that must be stopped. The President is all for this idea. This should have been done early on by the people he has entrusted.

THE ENVIRONMENT & NATURAL RESOURCES are for people NOT government. For what use is a wealthy and landed government when people remain poor?

Things must change. Rules must change. And policies must change. If there is one very important thing the Department of Environment and Natural Resources must prioritize, it is this. To make sure than land and water is returned to its original God given STEWARDS - Man and families.

DENR's role is to PROTECT the environment NOT to LORD over it, or more so, take it from man. The dept is more than illegal mining. It is securing the freedom to develope and utilize land, water for the posterity of our children.

The dept is not just a mining closing agency. It is there to secure the future and posterity of the Filipino families of God given land, water and natural resources. It's time to reassess your goals and priorities.
