On Monday, January 23, Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald 'Bato' dela Rosa said that he will be following the advice of his ‘idol’ Senator Panfilo 'Ping' Lacson who told him to get rid of extracurricular activities, GMA News reported.

When asked to comment on the senator’s statement, Dela Rosa said:

Susundin ko ‘yung kanyang advise. He is my idol kaya susundin ko.
Senator Lacson, former PNP chief, said he wanted to give Gen. Dela Rosa a second chance amid calls for him to resign.

He even said that the PNP chief should show the public that he is serious with his work by getting rid of "unrelated activities.”

Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte had said on Sunday that Gen. Dela Rosa still has his complete trust and will stay as the PNP chief.
