ABS-CBN is in hot water after allegedly publishing fake news about Rey Joseph Nieto, the founder of Thinking Pinoy blog and Facebook page.

According to Nieto, ABS-CBN reported in one of their article dated January 8 that he had requested to join the Malacanang Press Corps (MPC) and that he got the approval during their meeting on February 7 with President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a Facebook Live video, Nieto slammed ABS-CBN and said,

Iko-quote nyo 'ko hindi nyo man lang ako tatawagan, hindi nyo man lang ako ii-email, gagawa kayo ng balita?

Yan! Yan yung mga fake news na dapat iniimbestigahan ni Bambambidam-Bambambidambam. Nakakaloka!

Meanwhile, on the same date, ABS-CBN's published article about Nieto was already updated and corrected. Here's what they said. Please read.

Editor's note: Our initial story erroneously reported that Thinking Pinoy community page founder Rey Joseph Nieto had requested to join the Malacanang Press Corps and that he got the approval.

According to Mr. Nieto, he did not ask to join the Malacanang Press Corps organization, but only access to cover President Rodrigo Duterte and other Palace events. We regret the error.
