ASec Mocha Challenged Mainstream Media on Fake News Article Published by Rappler

After Commission on Appointments (CA) rejection on Judy Taguiwalo’s appointment as Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) secretary, news about CA decision immediately spread online and on mainstream media. However, some netizens saw a controversial article published by Rappler and took a screenshot of it.

The article was written by Pia Ranada entitled: Duterte to appoint Nikki Prieto-Teodoro as DSWD chief.

Prominent social media blogger and columnist at The Manila Times, Sass Rogando Sasot, posted on her Facebook page the screenshot of the said article and captioned it with:

Fake news by Pia Ranada Robles saying that Duterte intends to appoint Nikki Prieto-Teodoro as DSWD sec. Rappler already deleted it, but not fast enough to prevent google cache from saving a copy.

Sasot's post was shared by staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte and Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Assistant Secretary Margaux "Mocha" Uson on her Facebook page and challenged the mainstream media to prove that they are not biased.

At tatanungin kung bakit nagpapakalat siya ng FAKE NEWS na tulad ng ginawa ninyo sa akin? PATUNAYAN NIYONG HINDI KAYO BIASED.
