On Sunday, August 20, Vice President Leni Robredo visited Kian's wake. She talked with Zaldy, Kian's father, and visited the to scene where Kian was shot dead by police operatives. Robredo also offered a free legal assistance to the family.

Senator Risa Hontiveros on Saturday, August 19, visited the wake of Kian. She spoke to the parents and said she "accord full protection and security to the family and to the witnesses, to provide whatever legal service is needed."
