Supporters Raised Millions For Leni's Counter-Electoral Protest Against Marcos

The Museo Pambata founder Cristina Lim-Yuson, one of the persons who advocates "Piso Para Kay Leni" campaign, said they have raised more than P7.4 million to help and support Vice President Leni Robredo to pay the remaining fee for her counter-electoral protest against former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

According to Yuson, what they did is an online fundraising. She said:

We have raised the money needed to cover the amount for the Vice President’s counter-protest.
As of 5:20 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, Yuson said they have raised P7,442,859.34.

Other advocates of the online movement are former human rights commissioner Paulynn Sicam, former PAG-Ibig Fund chief executive officer Zorayda Amelia Alonzo, Ateneo de Manila University press director Karina Bolasco, singer Celeste Legaspi-Gallardo and former social welfare secretary Dinky Soliman. Last May, Robredo paid an initial deposit of P8 million. The Supreme Court has granted the request of her lawyers for an extension of the deadline to pay the remaining balance, P7.43 million, required to process her counter-protest against Marcos.
